LORI ANNE GRAVLEY
Lori Anne Gravley lives with too many stringed instruments and houseplants. Sometimes her sons come to visit. She grew up in Niceville, FL; earned her MFA in El Paso, TX; and now she lives either in a 1963 Avion Travel Trailer in Pennsylvania, in a tiny house in Tucson, or in her camper van on the road in the Americas. She has been nominated for a Pushcart and Best New Poets. You can hear her interviews with poets and her recordings of poems on WYSO.org where she is the co-producer of the local poetry program, Conrad's Corner.
She's taught poetry and writing throughout the United States in community colleges, prisons, universities, libraries, elementary schools, public parks, and high schools. Now, she teaches writing and facilitates program management and leadership courses around the world as a contracted consultant for the US Agency for International Development. A long-time practicer of yoga, she's an RYT-200 with a specialty in Trauma Sensitive Yoga. She has taught yoga classes and incorporated yoga into her classroom teaching since 2013.
She conducts a yearly Stone's Throw Writing Retreat in Tenant's Harbor, Maine, with Rebecca (R.A.) Morean.
In addition to poetry and essays for adults, Lori writes fiction and poetry for children of all ages, from picture books to young adult. You can find out more about her work for children at www.lorigravley.com.
